Located in the heart of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula on the shores of Lake Superior lies the Munising Tourist Park Campground. This City owned campground was established in 1924 and has long since been a stopping point for campers visiting pictured rocks. With its unique location on Lake Superior it gives campers the ability to recreate on Lake Superior while experiencing breathtaking views. The campground is just 3 miles west of Munising where campers will find boat rides such as Pictured Rocks Cruises, Glass Bottom Boat Cruises’s and the Riptide Ride all located within 3 miles of the campground.

These sites are mainly in the open. Located in the middle of the park. They have electric and water-hookups, but share with the other sites around them. It is recommended that all campers bring an extra extension cord and water hose so they can reach. These sites are ideal for groups as there is room to park in circles. All rustic tent sites are walk-in only. Meaning there is a parking area where you can leave your vehicle. The distance depends on the site you choose. A safe estimation for distance would be the closest site being 20 yards and the furthest being roughly 200 yards away. Again, these are estimated distances and there is a wheeled cart on each end for people to use. These sites are primarily on the beach in sand so longer tent stakes are recommended.
